What photos do you need for a good property video?

Usually 8-20 high-quality, varied, legally usable photos are enough. The result depends less on the count and more on clear spatial coverage and technical quality.

Photo preparation

The number of photos is not the first question

Eight intentional images can often do more than thirty near-duplicates. Every photo in the video needs a role: establish the property, move the viewer to the next space, highlight a valuable detail, or close the story.

Practical photo count

Video typeSuggested source materialWhat it supports
Short teaser, 15-20 sec6-10 photosA quick visual impression and key benefits
Standard property film, 30-45 sec8-16 photosLogical room flow, details, and CTA
Richer film, 45-60 sec12-20 photosMore rooms, exterior context, and a fuller visual arc

Which images should be included?

Good source material works like a short walkthrough. The viewer does not need to reconstruct the full floor plan, but they should understand the property and its strongest features.

1. A strong opening image

Use a well-composed exterior, bright living room, panoramic terrace, characterful interior, or the most distinctive view of the project.

2. The main rooms

Include at least the living room, kitchen, main bedroom, and bathroom. When several images show the same room, choose angles that add new information, such as a wardrobe or feature that has not appeared yet.

3. Exterior and surroundings

For gardens, terraces, views, and good locations, exterior context matters. Use only environmental imagery you have the right to publish and that does not misrepresent the property.

4. Value-adding details

Premium materials, lighting, kitchen details, fireplaces, and distinctive finishes can create useful rhythm between wider room views.

5. A deliberate closing frame

End with a memorable exterior, panorama, or interior frame that can carry the CTA, agency name, contact, or next step.

What technical quality is needed?

Use original, high-resolution files rather than compressed chat images or screenshots. Sharpness, consistent exposure, natural perspective, and clean usage rights matter more than the camera model.

What usually weakens a video?

  • too many near-identical angles;
  • missing transition spaces such as hallways or exterior context;
  • mixed aspect ratios and styles without a clear reason;
  • watermarks, portal logos, or outdated baked-in text;
  • artificial edits that imply features the property does not have.

Quick upload checklist

  • There are at least 8 genuinely usable photos.
  • Main rooms and strongest property benefits are covered.
  • There are not too many duplicated angles.
  • Files are original or high-resolution exports.
  • Images are sharp, well exposed, and visually consistent.
  • Usage rights are clear.
  • You have indicated where the video will be published.

Frequently asked questions

Can portrait and landscape photos be mixed?

Yes, but the edit and motion need to respect the chosen output aspect ratio.

Can phone photos be used?

Yes, if they are sharp, well lit, not over-compressed, and naturally composed.

What if I only have 5-6 good photos?

A short teaser may still be possible, but a full 30-60 second film will likely need more visual variety.
